Fun with subtitles on Youtube

It's been a long standing tradition on Youtube to upload foreign language clips with funny subtitles as a form of comic relief, perhaps the best known are the fragments from Der Untergang, a German movie about the last days of the Third Reich where Hitler is having one temper tantrum after the other. Of course the media felt duty bound to report that it was a realistic portrayal, anyways, it's so blatantly over the top that it makes for excellent comedy.

Here is a clip of Der Untergang where Hitler is informed about Breivik's manifesto.

I noticed the same reality bursting comedic potential when watching a video clip of day 33 of Commander Breivik's trial where Ulrik Fredrick Malt gives his two cents on Breivik's sanity, with Breivik having a hard time keeping his face straight. So I got inspired to to add some subtitles, nothing overly funny, but I encourage everyone with a sense of humor to create a video response with some hilarious subtitles of your own design.

Update July 05, 2012:

The YouTube Community has flagged one or more of your videos as inappropriate. Once a video is flagged, it is reviewed by the YouTube Team against our Community Guidelines. Upon review, we have determined that the following video(s) contain content in violation of these guidelines, and have been disabled:
  • Commander Breivik smirks as expert tells faery tales
Your account has received one Community Guidelines warning strike, which will expire in six months. Additional violations may result in the temporary disabling of your ability to post content to YouTube and/or the permanent termination of your account.

Sincerely,

The YouTube Team

It appears the Youtube moderators are as tolerant of satire as Muslims. I'll have to look into finding an alternative to Youtube.

  1. How do you get hold of a clip like that one? I have windows movie maker so how would I transfer it to my files so I could use it?

    1. You can use FVD to download videos from Youtube. Next you upload the video back onto Youtube, go to the advanced video editing section, and add annotations.

  3. The Subtitles in the Hitler Clip aren't funny, when you're able to understand german. ^^

Why is one of Breivik's possible Diagnoses "Tourette Syndrom"?
I thought, it's when you have to swear all the time. I never saw him swearing in his videos. Oô

    1. In some cases people with Tourette Syndrom suffer from invasive violent thoughts. So the idea is that 7/22 is the result of Breivik having an irrational obsession with violence.

  4. If he did have an irrational obsession with violence, wouldnt he have gone out looking for a fight instead of playing games and watching tv?

  6. "Harmful Activities"

    Are these people crazy???

If he ate 69 Marxist piggys all at once he might get indigestion, but a couple of Alka-Seltzers and I'm sure he'd be able to manage a few more piggys for dessert!

Health and Safety rules... pain in my assholes!

    :-D

  9. Angus, what happened to the video of the category C traitor running away from Breivik? Did you delete it or did YouTube?

    1. YouTube deleted it.

'The sound of cultural suicide' was deleted as well, which was a video of the 1000+ fools singing the children of the rainbow song. I guess they didn't like the title and/or description.

'Commander Breivik's Oslo bombing reconstruction' was deleted too, not sure why.

I also was notified that one of my comments had been removed because it contained hate speech, but no link to the video or copy of the comment was given.

No freedom of speech for nationalists.

    2. Would I be right in thinking that you're on some kind of account warning by now? If your account was to be unfortunately and sadly terminated by YouTube, will you create another one? I've saved nearly all your videos to my computer assuming that they will in the future try and completely silence you from the site and subsequently you having all of your videos removed.

    3. I assume another violation would result in the termination of the Youtube account. I've been looking into alternatives to Youtube but haven't found anything that I like. Liveleak is an option, but it's based in the UK.

I'm trying to keep backups of everything, my main concern is this blog and the resource collection getting nuked.

I think the best plan is for us to create our own sites, or collectively ignore sites like Youtube and visit alternatives that allow anti-Marxist views to be expressed.
